Assoc. Prof. Herminigildo Ranera, PhD of the Conservatory of Music was the recipient of the inaugural Best Musical Director award in the first-ever Live Entertainment Arts and Festival (LEAF) Awards, held on February 8, 2020.
Ranera, Principal Conductor of the ÁùºÏ²ÊÖ±²¥¿ª½± Symphony Orchestra, was recognized for his work as musical director of Noli Me Tangere, the Opera. At the Conservatory, he teaches trombone, conducting, theory, and composition. The three-time winner of the National Music Competition for Young Artists (NAMCYA) has led the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, California State Long Beach Symphony Orchestra, San Miguel Philharmonic, and Manila Philharmonic.
